Build a mask to help a person with a disability access their sip and puff devices while staying COVID safe!

Makers Making Change‘s Atlanta Georgia Chapter and the Shepherd Center are co-hosting a Sip and Puff Adapted Mask Build-a-thon! This event will occur simultaneously virtually and in person; Virtually (for the general public) and in-person event for the staff of the Shepherd Center. Chapter Leader Kristen Webber will lead you through the process of building Aug 5 at 12-1pm EST

@KristenWebber how did it go? We have a few participants who want to see a video(is it recorded?-cant recall) If so can you post here?
I look forward to catching up to hear how it went!

The event was a big success for in-center participants! We created 141 masks. I will edit the video of the event and post it publically.
We will also use some of the footage for a future build- date TBD.

Parts to Purchase

Pre-made mask: fabric, NK95, N95 or surgical mask

Grommet Tool Kit: Grommet kit set includes a hole cutter, a matched mandrel, and 100 sets of grommets eyelets (each set includes 1 eyelet and 1 washer), and a storage box; Eyelets size: 2/5” (10 mm) internal hole diameter.

Silicone Grommets : Silicone Straw Hole Grommets with Attached Plugs; Fits a 10mm hole; Reduces a 10mm hole to an 8mm internal hole diameter.

Tools Required:

Hammer

Ruler

Durable and flat surface

Eraser or similar

Handheld firm but yielding surface(an eraser or cardboard etc)
